If BB3 allows me to customize my team like that, even with paid DLCs, then it's auto-buy for me. ![]() It would also make it possible to finally have female models for other players than just amazons. Or imagine a similar thing for pirate goblins, winter-themed elves, clown-themed kislevites, maya-themed Khemri. You would use the same rules as a chaos team but the team would use slaanesh models. Your coaches will be accompanied by assistant coaches and cheerleaders on the sides of the field. The six emotes you have in this game are: celebration, incitement, kill us, despair, tease and explosion. or even completely alternative themes, like a slaanesh theme for a chaos team. The coaches in Blood Bowl 3, represented adjacent to the dugout, will appear in pop-ups when you select one of the six emotes. But for a game like BB, it's very easy to imagine all kinds of paid cosmetic stuff like different colours and models for players, as well as balls, referees, cheerleaders, stadiums. Honestly I think that releasing a full game featuring all teams is a necessity of they want BB3 to succeed. Either they release all teams at launch (and have cosmetic DLCs so you can properly customize your "figs" or something like that), or they release full expansions with missing teams. If we can only play 8 teams at launch, or if we need to pay 5 bucks for each team, then yeah it will fail. What matters much more is if and how you will access all the teams in BB at launch. There aren't a lot of BB players on console, and being able to crossplay doesn't really change much about the game experience anyway. I think you're putting way too much value in cross play. meh, the BB fans won't play it anyway, and newcomers will still have to unlearn bad habits when playing online. If BB3 manages to do something like that then it'll probably have more success for both BB fans and newcomers who don't want to risk playing online immediately.īut if it's just a better AI. A story mode with the kind of events we have in the BB2 tutorial could also do the trick. It could be doable for BB, but it will only really work if we can interact with the press, other coaches etc. All that fuss about machine learning to make a BB AI completely miss the point, because obtaining an AI that can easily beat most players and that will always plauy optimally doesn't make a good AI for a game either.Ī good AI for a game like BB is supposed to mimic real players and have a certain playstyle - see how it works in strategy games where each AI empire has a "personality". Otherwise it will always just be a script that can become predictable. ![]() I think the AI in BB only matters if it comes with a solo campaign or at least some solo-focused gameplay, such as advanced match events, some kind of career mode or a rivality system. Maybe if they massively(!) improve the AI.
